THEME
Total Commitment
Reading; Acts 21 : 7 – 16
SERMON OUTLINE
1) Examples of hard things people have had to do.
2) Commitment of an athlete training for their race or match.
3) Paul faced difficulties. He knew that when he got to Rome he was going to be attacked badly. This was reinforced by the prophecy from Agabus. How would you have felt? What would you have done?
4) Following Jesus is about commitment, and going against the flow.
5) Example of Christians in Eritrea. We have it very easy!!
6) Jesus calls us to follow Him. It’s more than worth it, but not easy :-
People will mock
You will be discouraged
It takes commitment.
But when we follow Him, he will use us.
7) Commitment needs to be real, as in a marriage, or to a job. But it’s commitment to One who loves you and wants to use you.
8) Some practical ways in which this can be expressed in the near future are :-
Coming on the church weekend
Inviting somebody to Blue Moon or Alpha.
