QUESTIONS OF APPLICATION

 

Read the passage

 

1) What possible “confidence in the flesh” had Paul discarded? What might be “confidence in the flesh” for you?

 

2) What had Paul found to replace his “confidence in the flesh”?  On a scale of 1 ( Very little) to 10 ( utterly) how much do you share Paul’s ambition expressed in vv 10, 11? What are you doing about it?

 

3) What do you understand by “power of His resurrection” and “fellowship of sharing in His sufferings”? (v10)

 

4) How would you summarise vv 12 – 15? How determined are you to be like this? What helps and what hinders you?

 

5) What priority in your life is building and sustaining your relationship with Christ? How does it compare to other relationships, interests or ambitions?
