CELL GROUPS WEEK OF PRAYER – W/C 22/1/2012
If you want to begin with an Ice-breaker you could start with the question
How do you feel about change?
As a church we stand in the middle of a time of change. A couple of Sunday’s ago when he spoke Ray Booth reminded us that interregnums can be positive times. He made us laugh by reminding us that God doesn’t leave when the vicar does. He encouraged us to step up to the mark, seek God and keep the faith.
Start in small groups of 2’s or 3’s and pray for each other to keep seeking God through 2012, looking to and being a part of what he is doing now and praying for each other to continue to grow. Read Philippians1 v 9-11 and pray this over each other.
You may for the next part like to mix the small groups up or have a couple of larger groups.
Spend some time praying for our church life, please include;
Liz and Steve
PCC members
Leadership team members
Cell leaders and co-ordinators
Andy and the children’s and young people’s workers
Move on to pray for situations in our country and abroad. You might like to use a couple of the day’s newspapers to share around to help with the detail of what to pray about.
It would be good at this point to remember and include in our prayers;
Janet Harris and her work in Vietnam
The Sambrooke family working in Bosnia
David Kereto and his work with the Masai people in Kenya
To close the evening you could use the Lord’s prayer and pray God’s kingdom into every situation prayed about during the evening. (If you have used the large sheet of paper for people to write on during the evening that will make this part a little easier).
